It is interesting that three drops of blood fall into the
snow, I feel like the Queen probably had to prick herself pretty hard to draw
that much blood and that must have hurt. It’s sad that the Queen died after
giving birth and never really got to see her daughter. I feel like only a year
is not that long for the King to get over his deceased wife, find a new wife,
and marry her. I wonder if it might be a coincidence that there are seven dwarfs,
which is just as old as Snow-white especially because seven can reference the
completeness of man sometimes in literature. I think that its odd that the
huntsman had pity on Snow-white because she was so beautiful instead of being a
child or innocent. It’s really creepy and cannibalistic that the Queen wanted
to eat Snow-white’s heart. Thankfully she did not, but the Queen seems to be a
little crazy and obsessive about Snow-white. When Snow-white is testing out the
beds to sleep in and one is too long, I don’t see why that was a problem and
why she didn’t just sleep there because a bigger bed is nice with all that
extra space. I feel like Snow-white could have accompanied the dwarfs with them
to work instead of doing all of the domestic household chores, but I guess
Snow-white might have preferred staying inside because being a princess she
probably didn’t have to do that much work and probably just hung out in her
castle most of the time. Also if Snow-white would have stayed with the dwarfs
all day then they could have protected her from the Queen. I also like how the Looking-glass
responds to the Queen in rhymed lines. Snow-white literally only had one rule,
which was to not let anyone inside, and she broke it rather quickly. I can’t
believe that Snow-white was fooled again by the wicked Queen, especially
because the Queen lead with the same line, but I guess that since Snow-white is
only seven she deserves a little break. This also reminds me of the saying fool
me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I think that the Queen is
being very dramatic especially because she is willing to die in order to be the
prettiest, but if no one sees Snow-white other than the dwarfs I don’t understand
why the Queen won’t just stop there because it will seem like she is the
prettiest woman in the land. I feel like the dwarfs are being a little dramatic
when they cried for three days after Snow-white died because it seems like not
much time has passed by since they met her and they probably don’t really even
know Snow-white that well. I think that it is really weird that a random king’s
son just wants the coffin with Snow-white in it especially because he has never
met her before now. I like how in this version true loves kiss doesn’t magically
wake up Snow-white and that it is just a coincidence that the apple piece is
dislodged from her throat. However, its really weird that this prince is in
love with Snow-white after only just looking at her through her glass coffin. Also,
I don’t know why the prince isn’t more weirded out that this dead girl suddenly
comes back to life. I feel like the story ended rather quickly with the evil
step Queen dying, but I guess it was justice because the Queen did attempt to
kill Snow-white on three occasions and sent a huntsman to kill her tallying up
to four murder attempts. I think that it is a little strange that Snow-white has
a complete absentee father and he is not really mentioned in the story other
than to marry the evil step Queen. I also think that the father should have
noticed, or at least have been more concerned that his seven-year-old daughter
was missing and should have done something like sending out a search party.
